I regretfully have to inform you that the the Spoke-N-Sport Crit Series Final has to be canceled due to construction on the course. With heavy equipment parked on the course and workers still on site at 7:00pm tonight, the call to cancel the race is of a matter of safety to all riders. Even if we were able to have the equipment moved off the course, the road condition with gravel, rock and mud would still be too dangerous and take too long to clean to a raceable level.
For the series overall competition we will reduce the number of races that get tallied to the 3 best finishes of each racer. The series standings will be tallied and final results posted in the near future on the CPC website:
www.centralplainscycling.com . The top three racers in each "A" and "B" category will be contacted with news of their awards.
Please forward this announcement on to all that would potentially be racing tomorrow night so that we can save everyone a trip.
Again, I apologize for the cancellation, but we need to uphold the safety of the riders which is the key to any cycling event. Thank you to all who have participated, sponsored and/or volunteered to make this series a success. Pending the status of the developing course area, hopefully we can again bring you the Spoke-N-Sport Criterium Series in 2010.
